In 1996 Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry first began a relationship with two Lutheran Church bodies in the Tamil Nadu province of South India, the Arcot Lutheran Church (ALC) and the India Evangelical Lutheran Church (IELC). The partnership has included collaborating with the churches to complete many education, healthcare and church-related projects.
