Madagascar Projects

In partnership with St. Philip the Deacon Lutheran Church of Plymouth, Minnesota, LPGM assisted in the financial aspects of building a church in Mananjary, Madagascar. This 700 seat church building was completed in the summer of 2001. The building of the Mananjary Lutheran Church was a result of a church tithing program, Sharing the Blessings, in which a congregation is encouraged to give 10% of a capital funds appeal or campaign to mission while retaining the remaining 90% for its own building or capitol needs.
Another church in Ankatso, Madagascar, near the capital city of Antannarivo, was financed by a generous gift from First Lutheran Church of Fargo, North Dakota as part of a tithing program. This 1000 seat church was completed in 2005.
Both congregations in Madagascar contributed heavily to these projects as well.
