Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry Projects
In 1995, Lutheran Partners in Global Ministry was created out of a pressing need to connect people with opportunities around the world and build relationships as we carry out Christ’s Great Commission. (Matthew 28:18-20) Gordon Olson, LPGM’s President describes the development and growing process as ‘evolvement.’ When one gives birth to a school or hospital or church, there is most often a blueprint or design followed by those who have done it before. But LPGM is a unique organization with no exact models to follow. We do not work in a single country nor do we work in a certain area of ministry such as medical or education. Our diverse mission makes it difficult to plan exactly our direction. We have relied on the guidance of the Holy Spirit and many committed and passionate people to establish ourselves as an organization and begin doing what we feel God has called us to do.
But now, with an annual income of approximately one million dollars, a staff of five (part-time and full-time), thirteen women and men on the board of directors, as well as a large donor constituency, LPGM is part of committed partnerships in eight countries. God has blessed us with the vision and resources to make a difference in the lives of others as we ourselves are changed by the power of God’s Spirit.
