This video, which tells the story of the new Emmanuel Health Center, was produced by Bruce Sundeen, who traveled to the Central African Republic for the dedication of the Emmanuel Health Center in January 2010. The latest 3-month report from Dr. Christa von Oertzen, Medical Director of the Emmanuel Health Center, suggests that many good things are happening at this clinic that is just over one year old.  Prior to its existence there were no medical facilities within about 40-50 miles of the villages it serves.  During the last reporting period (July-September, 2011) Dr. Christa reports that there were 2127 outpatients including 1058 children.  There were 77 births and prenatal care given to 349 women.  There were 300 inpatients with a cumulative total of 1336 days of stay.  Although the surgery facilities are still not fully equipped they did 34 major surgeries and 38 minor surgeries.  They treated 215 malnourished children and gave hundreds of immunizations.
