Argentina Travel Reflection – Carlos

Among many good things, three aspects of the trip stand out:

  1. The way in which the San Pablo Congregation took us in and let us walk with them through their normal daily lives. I didn’t feel that there was anything “put on” for our benefit to impress. I felt like I had been brought into a family, and I felt the pulse of their lives.
  2. I was touched and moved by the commitment to the Emanuel Mission. Fabian and Ezequiel and the whole congregation were wonderful role models through their obvious concern, care, and love for those children. And Stella was an inspiration.
  3. I really appreciated the time we spent with Gordon and the staff at I.E.L.U. Because those two organizations are so much a part of what we want to do, and what San Pablo is doing, it was really helpful to understand their relationship to each other and to us, the four-way partnership, as Gordon called it. Many thanks to all who helped organize and execute our stay. Special thanks to Veronica, who is a gem. She added a special dimension to the trip that enhanced our understanding greatly. A wonderful ambassador!
