Among the Maasai Virtual Book Club – SOLD OUT

By April 20, 2020May 5th, 2020No Comments

This event is currently full. If you’re interested, please let us know and we’ll include you on the waiting list and also let you know about future book club opportunities.

You’re invited to an upcoming online book club that will focus on a book that aligns with LPGM’s mission to provide access to quality education for people on the margins — especially women and girls — by working with global partners to listen, respond, and bear witness to local needs and priorities.

In her award-winning book, Among the Maasai, Juliet Cutler bears witness to the power of education for Maasai girls in Tanzania and reveals the ways relationships can transform boundaries. On Sunday, May 17th at 3:00 PM (Central Time), LPGM will host an online conversation with Juliet about her book. Learn more about the book on Juliet’s website.

LPGM is currently partnering with education leaders in Tanzania to provide community- and school-based training on child safety and well-being, as well as direct housing and education support to young women who face imminent risk of violence. As an LPGM supporter, Juliet has assisted LPGM in building these partnerships based on her connections in Tanzania, built over the last 20 years.

Space is Full

LPGM is limiting the number of participants in the book club in order to keep the online group manageable, but if we have additional interest, we will add more dates and times. Please email or call me at 612-806-0733 to reserve your space or to let me know that you’d like to participate in a future date.

If you want to purchase the book, signed copies are available through Juliet’s local independent bookstore, Hills & Hamlets Bookshop, which could really use your support during these challenging times. The book is also available through Amazon and other booksellers. Proceeds from the sale of the book are already supporting LPGM’s programs in Tanzania.
