Preparations are underway for the new Women in Agro-ecology Leadership for Conservation (WALC) sessions with our partners, Community Cloud Forest Conservation (CCFC) in Guatemala!  As you can see from last year’s photo, people are literally coming out of the windows!

The building project continues and we are hopeful that part of the new building will be ready for use by the time the young women arrive the end of October.  The new building will increase capacity for housing of students, educational classes and use of the processing kitchen for the WALC program.  This 25-day leadership training program includes education and hands-on practicals in agro-ecology, cloud forest conservation, women’s health, and more.  Most importantly, the young women will learn about themselves and their dreams for the future.  This November, LPGM board member, Tricia Hall, will be providing additional educational sessions in community health and working with 5 young women to initiate a Community Health Initiative Team.
