LPGM is seeking a Communications Coordinator (Full Time)

LPGM is seeking a Communications Coordinator to work full time for our U.S. office. The Communications Coordinator is tasked with managing the multi-channel communications strategy and calendar for LPGM. This position ensures that donors and sponsors receive regular, timely, and relevant communications about LPGM’s work and impact.

Major and Essential Job Responsibilities

Communications Strategy & Calendar

  • Collaborate with all staff, especially the development director and executive director, to develop and optimize a comprehensive communications and engagement plan.
  • Manage the multi-channel communications calendar, ensuring regular development and distribution of print and digital content in newsletters, email, social media and website content.
  • Create communications content, and engage staff and committee members in content creation, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
  • Monitor and evaluate communication strategies to track effectiveness, such as new viewers, subscribers, and followers.

Sponsor Communications

  • Develop communications that foster deeper relationships between sponsors and sponsored students, working closely with LPGM’s staff in India.
  • Craft compelling stories about individual students and the broader context of their lives.
  • Facilitate opportunities that encourage sponsors to correspond with their sponsored students throughout the school year.

Fundraising Communications

  • Collaborate with the development director to develop and implement direct fundraising communications.
  • Create and edit communications that effectively convey the impact of donations and express gratitude to donors.
  • Assist with new donor, church partner, and sponsor recruitment, stewardship, and fundraising efforts.

Marketing & Advertising

  • Identify conferences or events for LPGM to host exhibits, and assist with coordination, materials, and personnel during the event.
  • Support marketing communications, including paid advertising, social media, search ads, etc.

Donor Relations & Administration

  • Provide exceptional customer service to donors via phone and email.
  • Recruit volunteers to occasionally assist in mailing preparation, such as stuffing envelopes.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, assemblies, worship, and mission events.

Job Qualifications

Education: Preferably a four-year degree or equivalent experience in a similar discipline.

Experience: Three to five years in a relevant environment. Previous work in the nonprofit sector is advantageous.

Aptitudes: Ideal candidates will be highly organized, with strong project management skills and ability to manage overlapping deadlines. Candidates should be strong writers and editors, with the capacity to adapt content to different contexts and audiences. Comfort with modern communication, marketing, and fundraising technology (e.g. Facebook/Meta Business Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Analytics, Canva). Some graphic design required.

Physical, Mental or Other: This position requires the ability to take initiative and work independently as well as part of a team, the ability to prioritize work assignments, and the willingness to perform general office tasks outside the boundaries of this job description (answer telephones, photocopy reports, apply mailing labels, shop for supplies and the like) when called upon.

Work Direction: This position reports to the executive director and follows organizational policies, procedures and compliance regulations.

Accountability: The accuracy and timeliness of any task will have an impact on the integrity of the ministry. This position has access to confidential information. A high degree of discretion must be used with employee and donor data. The incumbent should always be looking for ways to improve the ministry in all partner relationships.

Work Relationships: This position requires regular contact with all members of staff as well as constituents and donors. Must be able to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner, resolve outstanding issues, and offer assistance wherever and whenever it is necessary.

Job Location: This position will have shared space in LPGM’s office in Edina, Minnesota. Flexible locations and remote work is possible.

Supervision of others: none

Salary Range: $48-53,000 per year, depending on experience.
