Former Boarding Home Student Becomes Proud Caretaker
By Kiruba Mani - Kariyalur Alumna, College Graduate, Current Caretaker
My name is Kiruba Mani, and I am currently serving as the caretaker at the Kariyalur Boarding Home [in the Kalrayan Hills in Tamil Nadu. India]. My bond with this institution is deeply personal and meaningful. I once lived here as a student, completing my 12th grade in May 2017.
After graduating from college, I had the privilege of returning to this very boarding home—not as a student, but as a caretaker for the next generation. This transformation fills me with immense pride and gratitude.
I fondly remember the many events that took place during my own student days. As a staff member during the celebration of the 30th Anniversary of LPGM [in September 2025], I felt a joy beyond words. It is a blessing to realize that I have been part of this long journey—first as a beneficiary and now as someone responsible for guiding young students.
I am especially delighted to have had the opportunity to train my boarding home children for their dance performances for the 30th anniversary event. Being entrusted with delivering a welcome address was also a moment of great honor for me. It reminded me of how far I have come and how beautifully life has brought me full circle.
I express my heartfelt gratitude to LPGM for supporting my education in the past and for providing the salary that now sustains my livelihood. This organization has shaped my life, and I am proud to continue serving through the very place that once nurtured me.
