Mwangaza Welcomes New Schools!
Mwangaza continues to grow! 16 schools have Peace Clubs, serving 1600 students. Three secondary schools joined the Safe Schools Initiative in 2025: Nanja, Lowasa, and Fuka. Already in 2026, five secondary schools have joined. They are Migungani Girls’ School, Meserani, Rift Valley, Nkuu, and Hai.
Mwangaza staff have delivered trainings at these new schools. In 2025, staff led 16 Teacher Trainings for over 400 teachers and 13 Parent Trainings for 650 parents.
At recent Parent Trainings, parents were led through an array of topics, including the importance of play, creating connection, leading with an active presence, and moving away from neglectful or harsh methods.
By equipping parents with the tools for “Authoritative Parenting,” Mwangaza is ensuring that the next generation is emotionally resilient and socially responsible, as well as academically gifted.
Luka Joshua is the guardian of a Form Four student at Nkuu. “I have learned a lot about empowering a child to be a friend, rather than just leaving them to go about their own business,” he shares. “We have strengthened the relationship between us parents, the students, and the teachers.”
